Glossary of Terms:
Trijicon Part # = The part number Trijicon gives this ACOG scope. If the ACOG is Night Vision Goggle compatible it will be noted
as "NVG Compatible" in this block
below the part number.
Power = The Magnification Power of the scope.
Caliber = The Round Caliber / Rifle Type that the scope is calibrated for. Example: M16 Rifle = .223 cal (5.56mm),
M4 Carbine = .223 cal (5.56mm), M21 Sniper Rifle = .308 cal (7.62mm)
Day Reticle Color = What the reticle pattern looks like during Daylight Hours.
Night Reticle Color = What the reticle pattern looks like during Nighttime
Hours.
Scope Length = The length of the scope.
Scope Weight = The Total Weight of the scope which includes the Mount and RMR sight (if
included).
BAC = Bindon Aiming Concept. The BAC equipped ACOG scopes allow you to shoot with both eyes open. In order to be considered BAC equipped the reticle pattern must illuminate during the day and night (The TA01 has black crosshairs during the day and is not BAC equipped, while the TA31RMR has red crosshairs during the day and is BAC equipped).
Eye Relief = The optimal distance behind the scope your eye should be while shooting. All of the ACOG scopes listed have good eye relief when compared to the caliber that they’re calibrated for.
FOV at 100 yd = Field of View at 100 Yards. The FOV is the “width” of the view at a specific range. The larger the FOV is, the wider the view is when looking through the scope (which is better for scanning for targets).
RMR Included = This shows if the ACOG comes equipped with a Trijicon
Ruggedized Miniature Reflex (RMR) sight from the factory. Trijicon Ruggedized
Miniature Reflex sights are good for CQB and Home Defense (short distance targets). The 4x32, 3.5x35,
3x30, and 5.5x50 ACOG scopes with the notation “Option To Add RMR” can
add them as an accessory from the “Options and
Discounted Accessories” checkbox list before you click “Add to My Cart”. If you
want to wait you can always pick up a Trijicon RMR Discount Package after you get your ACOG.
Mount Included = The mount that Trijicon includes from the factory. The TA51, TA60, TA75,
and ARMS are all Picatinny Rail Mounts which will attach the scope to any standard Picatinny Rail. If you see an ACOG listed with a TA51, TA60, TA75,
or ARMS mount…it is factory installed and ready to mount on your weapon. The
M16 Carry Handle Mount is the TA30 Screw Set which attaches the ACOG to the
Carrying Handle of M16 or M4 Rifles. Any ACOG scope with a TA51, TA60,
or ARMS mount can be changed to M16 Carry Handle mounting by purchasing a TA30 Screw Set (the TA75 mount doesn’t have this option).
Trijicon ACOG Scope FAQ:
We have a VERY thorough knowledge of the entire Trijicon product line (if we don’t know the answer, it probably can’t be found). If you have any questions about what product is best for your situation don’t hesitate to give us a call. We’ll make sure you get the perfect ACOG for your needs at a great price!
Question: What is that "Man Shaped" part around the reticle pattern?
Answer: That silhouette around the reticle pattern is just for illustrative purposes only. That
"Man Shaped" image not part of the reticle pattern. Example: On the TA31F it shows the "Man Shaped" symbol around the Chevron and Bullet Drop Reticle Pattern. When you look through the TA31F you will ONLY see the chevron and the bullet drop lines. You will not see any "Man Shaped" image.
Example: Illustration (on website) VS Actual View (through the scope)

Question: How do I use the Trijicon ACOG reticle pattern? What are the aiming points?
Answer: There are varying aiming points depending on what reticle pattern you choose. All of them are fairly easy to use. We'll show you an example of the aiming points for the Trijicon ACOG Chevron reticle pattern. If you have questions about a different reticle pattern don't hesitate to ask.
Example: ACOG Chevron Aiming Points Chart
Question: What ACOG should I choose?
Answer: That depends on your preferences and what you're going to use it for. All of these Trijicon ACOG scopes feature high durability, precise accuracy, ranging reticles (for ranging shots out to 600+ meters), etc. All ACOG scopes automatically illuminate during low light conditions (there are no batteries or on / off switches).
Most of the ACOGs that Trijicon makes come with Picatinny Rail mounts (the only
ones that don't come with a mount are the ones that say M16 Carrying Handle
Mount). All of the Trijicon ACOGs are made with the same high quality materials. There is no quality difference between the TA01 and the TA31ECOS…the additional cost is due to the extra options the TA31ECOS has. It doesn’t matter if you’re buying the TA01 or the TA31ECOS, you’re still getting a world class scope.
Question: What ACOG scopes are MILSPEC / Military Models?
Answer: It's a common misconception that only "certain ACOG scopes" are
MILSPEC / Military Models. There is no design or toughness difference
between a TA31A (a normal ACOG) and TA31RCO-M150 (a US Army specific ACOG).
These scopes are all made with the same parts, same engineering, same design,
and same toughness standards. Trijicon makes all of the ACOG scopes
MILSPEC tough because they want to sell ALL of the ACOG scopes to the military. The models that the US Military purchases a
lot of are: TA01NSN (US Army), TA31F (US Army), TA31RCO-M4 (US Marine Corps), TA31RCO-A4
(US Marine Corps), TA31RCO-M150 (US Army).
Question: If I put this ACOG on a M4 carbine or M16 rifle will I see the front sight post?
Answer: The magnification of the ACOG scopes actually "zooms out" past the front sight. The sight will be visible as a light blur in the bottom of the scope. It will not affect the operation of the optic or the rifle in any way.
Question: I have a X caliber rifle, with a X length barrel, with a X twist, using X grain bullets....which ACOG should I choose?
Answer: Individual differences in the types of rifles, lengths of barrels, barrel twists, and bullet grains are generally not important when selecting an ACOG. If your rifle is 5.56mm, select a 5.56mm ACOG. If your rifle is a 7.62mm rifle, select a 7.62mm ACOG. If you had a rifle hand made from scratch to your exact specifications (which will cost thousands of dollars) it may require a specific ACOG.
Question: How easy is this optic to use?
Answer: All of the Trijicon ACOG scopes are extremely easy to use. You simply take it out of the package (2 seconds), put it on the rifle (5 seconds), and zero it in (time depends on individual shooting skill). Once that's done you're all set.....no further adjustments are necessary. Trijicon ACOGs are fixed magnifications with no further windage or elevation adjustments necessary. There are no on / off switches, batteries, or anything else to worry about.
Once you put the optic on your weapon and zero it, the optic is ready for use.
Question: Why do ACOGs cost so much?
Answer: Basically it boils down to you get what you pay for. The best scopes
cost more money. Trijicon uses top of the line materials, manufacturing, and engineering methods to produce the best combat optic on the market. This is why the BOTH the USMC and the US ARMY have ordered more than one hundred thousand ACOG scopes to date (and they’re adding on to that order as you’re reading this). Military and Law Enforcement units all over the world use ACOGs (Israeli Defense Forces,
British SAS, United States Special Forces Units, US Secret Service, California LAPD SWAT, etc).
Question: What makes an ACOG different than the knockoff I can buy for HALF
the price?
ACOGs: Trijicon ACOGs are made with the highest quality materials, outstanding workmanship, and precise engineering. Trijicon ACOGs are made from Forged 7075-T6 Aircraft Aluminum and coated with a Mil Spec anodized finish (this makes the scopes both lightweight and extremely durable). The Trijicon employees take great pride in their scopes and triple check their work to ensure that every ACOG meets Trijicon’s high quality standard. Trijicon ACOGs are engineered to meet tolerances down to the thousandth of an inch…that’s 1/1000 of 1 inch. They want to make sure that the Trijicon name stands for high quality, high durability, and precise accuracy. Military and Law Enforcement units buy ACOGs for one reason…they’re the best combat scopes out there!
KNOCKOFFs: We’ve seen and used the knockoff scopes from China, Thailand, and elsewhere. These scopes are cheap for a reason…lower quality materials, cheap workmanship, and basic “slap it together” engineering. Yes, if you don’t bump the knockoff scope, treat it like a delicate flower, zero it once, and never touch it again…they work. The first time you bang the scope on something one of two things is going to happen…the optic will break or the zero will be lost. A broken scope or a scope that has lost its zero is worthless during an operation. If it really matters that your scope is both accurate and durable…you want an ACOG!
Here are some knockoff optics from an unethical dealer:

This dealer is selling fakes but marketing them as the "real deal"
(we can't mention the name of the website for legal reasons). These knockoff sights were significantly cheaper than real dealer prices. They were all made
cheaply in China and shipped here
illegally to the US. These knockoff sights WILL NOT stand up to normal use on actual rifles. Please DO NOT use a knockoff optic on a real weapon as it may be unsafe.
Question: I found an ACOG online somewhere else for $200 less than what you're selling it.
Why is that?
Answer: When you’re looking for the lowest price make sure the businesses you are checking are Accredited Better Business Bureau Members with a good rating! There are some dishonest businesses out there that show dirt cheap prices for optics and gear that aren’t real. They ship used, repaired, remanufactured, factory rejects, or even knockoff fake products (usually made cheaply in China).
You can use the Better Business Bureau to checkout any company before you buy online.
